Founding

The University of California at Berkeley was founded in 1868 and is the oldest University in the state. Student Life And Traditions

Student life and traditions are some of the University of California at Berkeley's most prominent characteristics. The school colors are Yale Blue and California Gold, which fans say look spectacular on a sunny day when they can be seen on banners hung from every building. UC-Berkeley is one of only two schools to have won NCAA titles in football, basketball, and baseball. Another distinctive feature is that more University of California at Berkeley alumni live outside of the U.S., than within it!

The University has many resources for students including 20 libraries with over five million volumes between them, 11 different museums showcasing science & technology, art & design as well as music & performing arts. University of California at Berkeley also has a botanical garden, which is worth visiting for the beautiful flowers and excellent views it provides over San Francisco Bay & Golden Gate Bridge.

University of California at Berkeley was ranked as one of the top public universities in the U.S., however, the University of California at Berkeley tuition fees are still very affordable when compared to other schools around the world. Students from outside the U.S can benefit from international student scholarships available through University's Study Abroad Office or Financial Aid Office depending on their country and program requirements/availability.
