Oaksterdam University is a school that teaches students about the cannabis industry. Oaksterdam has been around since 2007, and it has had an interesting history of success and setbacks. Oaksterdam offers many different types of classes, including business skills for entrepreneurs in the marijuana industry, cultivation skills for those interested in growing their own plants at home, medical training on how to prescribe cannabis-based treatments for patients with various ailments, and even cooking with cannabis! Oaksterdam also offers free courses online through Youtube channels like Weed World TV.

History

Oaksterdam University was founded in 2007 by Oakley and Richard Lee, who is also the founder of Oaksterdam. Oaksterdam has become a symbol for cannabis reform because it offers classes on medical marijuana laws, horticulture, cooking with cannabis, and more. The school's mission is to provide easy access to information about the benefits of medical marijuana so patients and their caregivers can make informed decisions and stay within the law. Oaksterdam University has been a leader in activism for medical marijuana patients since 2007.

Oaksterdam's campus is located on 15th Street between Broadway and Telegraph Avenue, right next to Oaksterdam gift shop that sells Oaksterdam apparel as well as smoking accessories such as rolling papers, water pipes, and vaporizers. Oaksterdam University has classrooms, a dispensary, and the Oaksterdam Museum which is open to the public on Fridays for tours between 12-15 pm PST.

Oaksterdam's cannabis courses include cultivation, cooking with cannabis, organic gardening techniques, plant care & nutrition, and environmental issues related to marijuana production among others. Oaksterdam offers online courses as well as weekend seminars. Oaksterdam is the only place in America where you can get your medical marijuana card and also take cannabis courses to learn about this medicine!

America’s First Cannabis College

Oaksterdam University is a great place to learn about the history of cannabis, its impact on our culture and economy, as well as how it can be used for better health. Oaksterdam was founded in 2007 by Richard Lee who also put Proposition 19 into motion that same year. The school offers classes all day long from courses such as “Cannabis Horticulture” to “Politics and Economics of Cannabis. Oaksterdam is dedicated to teaching people about safe, legal cannabis use as well as providing the opportunity for students looking into starting their own business in the industry or simply learning more about it.

Curriculum

The Curriculum at Oaksterdam University is a blend of cannabis science, business, and legal studies. The institution was founded in 2007 by Richard Lee with the goal to provide students with marketable knowledge about cannabis cultivation techniques, horticulture sciences, cooking with marijuana, medical applications of cannabis, and more. Oaksterdam has also become known for its activism efforts aimed at changing public perceptions about cannabis and the industry.

The Oaksterdam curriculum is divided into two tracks, each taking approximately 16 weeks to complete. The first track provides students with comprehensive knowledge of growing marijuana indoors as well as in greenhouses outdoors. Students learn how to cultivate plants from clones or cuttings, use hydroponic cultivation techniques, manage pests and diseases, and harvest dried buds. Oaksterdam students also learn about the drying, curing, and grading processes for cannabis as well as how to use various laboratory testing methods to determine cannabinoid content.

The second track focuses on business-related topics such as state and federal laws that govern medical marijuana distribution, marketing strategies for dispensaries and other retail outlets, legal issues related to medical marijuana, and how to conduct Oaksterdam University’s own business model through a case study analysis.

Opposition

Opposition to Oaksterdam University is primarily from conservative billionaires and fundamentalist Christians who do not support cannabis reform. Oaksterdam University has been a driving force behind the development of the legal medical marijuana industry in California since 2007 when voters passed Proposition 215 allowing for its use within state borders.

Oaksterdam University is a non-profit school that offers classes on cannabis cultivation, cooking with cannabis, and legal issues surrounding its use. Oaksterdam has been influential in the marijuana policy debate because of its focus on science rather than propaganda or fear-mongering rhetoric. Oaksterdam also provides training for those who want to become entrepreneurs within the industry by providing courses on how to open a dispensary or cultivation center. Oaksterdam is the first school of its kind in the United States and offers courses that are approved by California’s Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and the International Association for Cannabis as Medicine (IACM).
