Children's Fairyland Adventure

Children's Fairyland is a great place for children to go and have fun. Children's Fairyland is located in Oakland, California which is just over the bridge from San Francisco. History of Fairyland

    The year 1948 was a prehistoric era for children’s entertainment. There was no Disneyland or Nickelodeon TV, and the most popular amusement parks catered to thrill-seeking teenagers with their own “kiddie lands" that included simple carousels as well as pony rides in addition to cotton candy stands.

    When Oakland businessman Arthur Navlet had an idea to change all of that, he took his proposal for a storybook theme park with fairy-tale sets and live entertainment. To the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club, a group dedicated towards civic betterment and they loved what he had proposed. With support from William Penn Mott Jr., the park’s superintendent at the time, the citizens donated $50,000 so they could build Children’s Fairyland on its shores.

Events And Performances

Amazing artists perform at Children's Fairyland each year including jugglers, acrobats, puppeteers, and dancers. Many things are happening here every day so be sure not to miss out on all of the fun activities available like the upcoming Spring Celebration where performances include storytellers along with musicians playing the harp, Celtic flute, violin, and guitar. Children will enjoy the Children's Fairyland Parade where children of all ages are welcome to dress up in costumes fit for royalty along with their family & friends who can join them on a special parade float created by Children's Fairyland staff.

Fairyland's Birthdays And Park Rentals

Children's Fairyland provides different types of parties, depending on the number of children attending. Children's Fairyland parties are suited for kids ages one through twelve. Children will enjoy exploring the park, playing games with their friends, and taking part in many of our unique activities that appeal to children of all age groups.

    Also, one of Children's Fairyland's biggest events is Park Rentals. The park can be rented out for weddings, birthdays, and even corporate parties. The Fairyland community outreach program aims to increase access for underserved students and improve funding in schools. In addition, their thriving children’s theater provides arts education by providing affordable performing arts opportunities that are also available at Aesop's Playhouse from 8-10 years old.
