Admissions

Counselors at Samuel Merritt University are available to answer any questions about the admissions process, financial aid, and programs of study. Samuel Merritt is a community-based school with several campuses across Alameda County offering bachelor's degrees in Nursing, Health Sciences, Business Administration & Management as well as graduate studies in Nurse Anesthesia Practice Master’s program or Physician Assistant Master’s program.  Samuel Merritt University has an open-door admissions policy for all students regardless of race, color, creed, age, religion, or sex. Centers And Libraries

Samuel Merritt University has five centers and libraries on campus. The Samuel Merritt Library, located in the Health Professions building, is a 21-seat computer lab with both Macs and PCs for student use.

The Green Library offers an extensive collection of medical books to support students studying healthcare education or nursing; additionally, there are over 90 subscription databases that include journals, news sources (e.g., New York Times), magazines (e.g., TIME), eBooks available 24/365 as well as health information videos accessible through streaming video service Kanopy which provides access to more than 30,000 films about arts & culture documentaries.

Other Samuel Merritt University Libraries include the Educational Resource Center, located in Green Hall; The Instructional Resource Library (IRC) is a teaching and learning center that provides students with 24/365 access to film screening rooms. Samuel Merritt's latest library addition is the Health Sciences Library which was established in Fall 2012. Samuel Merritt also has a virtual library called LibCal which allows for books from other libraries including UC Berkeley and UCLA to be viewed remotely on campus through an electronic reader device such as Kindle or iPad.
