This magnificent 306-acre park is surrounded by Lagoon Lake, a 100-acre lake that may be utilized for nonmotorized boating. There are walking routes that lead to the beautiful Hume, Rotary, and Hospice Groves as well as miles of multi-use hiking trails with public access to surrounding Open Space.
The 27 holes disc golf course outdoor archery range electric model flying field among other attractions makes this an all-encompassing place for everyone! A gated 30 000 square foot dog park shaded trees canine drinking stations offer even more recreation options, in addition, to come out today and enjoy it with your pup!
Lagoon Valley Park has a wide variety of facilities for hosting picnics and events, including individual picnic tables, small-group shelters near the lake, and a playground area that can be rented out on an hourly basis. The park is also home to basketball courts, football fields with goalposts for kicking field goals or punting balls into nets to score points in soccer games without crossing any lines. Restrooms are available throughout the park as well!
Peña Adobe Historical Area
The Peña Adobe Historic Area in Lagoon Valley Park in Vacaville is a historically significant 8-acre park that contains the historic Peña Adobe house and Mowers-Goheen Museum. The area also has two large group picnic areas with gazebos for shade; barbecue grills; horseshoe pits; multi-purpose fields where picnics may be held or other activities can take place such as business gatherings (or even festivals!). You'll find restrooms on-site too so make sure you're well-stocked before heading out into this beautiful part of town!
The Pena Adobe is Solano County's oldest fully repaired building, but it didn't start out that way. When Juan Felipe Pena and his family arrived in Vaca Valley from New Mexico in 1842, they erected the adobe as a shelter for their new home. Throughout the day Cecelia Peña and Darlene Stewart of 5th generation Peña family members will provide tours of this historic landmark to share its story with visitors who come by to see one of California’s oldest intact buildings still standing today.
