This park was created in the early 1900s as a result of some generous donations from Andrew Harris to support public education in Vacaville. Today, this park still supports education through its programs like walking school buses and after-school tutoring sessions.

The park also offers an outdoor basketball court and other sports fields as well as an open space with picnic areas for families to enjoy during their downtime on weekends or even weekday evenings! Great Wonders Playground

Great Wonders Playground was built by volunteers and the public after a series of meetings to design it. Unfortunately, vandals set fire to it shortly before completion--but instead of giving up on this great idea, locals came together and rebuilt the park! Today Great Wonders Park is one of Vacaville's favorite playgrounds. Great things that the community accomplished by rebuilding the playground:

  • Great Wonder Playground in Andrews Park is an example of how communities can come together for an even greater cause.

  • Despite being burned down upon its completion due to vandalism from nearby residents who wanted nothing more than peace & quiet, they brought their ideas back from ashes as well as all donated money raised through events many events.

  • The construction of the Great Wonders Playground has been a great success, with thousands of children taking advantage.

  • Children are now free to explore and let their imaginations run wild as they traverse through different pathways and slides - even an oversized dragon!
