Life Academy of Health and Bioscience is a small Oakland, California public high school. They have served children in grades 6 through 12 from a variety of backgrounds since 2001. Life Academy offers a rigorous academic experience centered on Health and BioScience to its students. They strive to prepare students to become future health professionals by offering authentic learning opportunities such as project-based learning, field visits, and substantial internship programs in health and science.

With students attending Stanford, UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, UCLA, UC Davis, Smith College, and San Francisco State, Life Academy has the best UC and CSU admission rate of any Oakland high school.

Life Academy was created to help students who want to pursue careers in medical, biotechnology, mental health, and other health-related sectors.

Every student chooses between three professional paths: medical, mental health, and biotechnology.

Life Academy places a strong emphasis on biological sciences, and all students are required to take rigorous biology coursework.

Life Academy offers post-secondary education options for all students, including advanced coursework in each professional route area.

Students conduct an internship with one of their Featured Partners, such as hospitals, bio-tech labs, schools, or community health initiatives, in order to prepare for higher education and success in their chosen industries.

Life Academy has the highest acceptance percentage for UC and CSU of any Oakland high school. UC Berkeley, Stanford, University of San Francisco, UCLA, UC Davis, Smith College, and San Francisco State University have all accepted our grads.

Without the assistance of our partners, Life Academy would not be able to provide the many unique programs that we offer to our students.
