Drakes Point- Vacaville, California's Favorite Park
A scenic hike with a little bit of everything, the Drakes Point Trail offers an all-around experience for visitors. The trail covers about 2 kilometers and can be accessed by car or on foot from Vacaville's town center at any number of points along its length; if you're looking to get out there while enjoying some fresh air then this is just what your body needs!

There are also some beaches around Drakes bay where they have been known to fish from time to time, but not many since it's surrounded by rocks on all sides except one side which leads out into the ocean. The park itself is fairly big with several trees surrounding most parts of it making for a nice shady area in the summer months too. A tough climb with some interesting boulders to challenge you on the way up. There's no switchback, so it is important for experienced hikers who can handle steep terrain! This trail would be great training in preparation for more difficult hikes later this year - imagine what I'll look forward to when my legs start hurting after 10 miles at altitude?
This path has an elevation gain over its entire length which means that every step takes me closer (or farther) from sea level depending on whether you are climbing or descending during our journey. The rocks along these paths provide an additional element challenging hikers physically without slowing down progress through tired muscles due to the steep grade.
