Dimond Park is a historic Oakland neighborhood that was founded in 1917. The city’s original boundaries surrounded it, and to this day the park sits at its base with hiking trails leading up towards Joaquin Miller Park above. Reflecting these historic roots, Dimond Park also hosts Lions Pool, opened to the public in 1929 which used to be home to what some say may have been Oakland's oldest documented oak tree before it went down in 2017.
