301 Bel Air Dr, Vacaville, CA 95687
In August of 2016, Sierra Vista reopened as a K-8 school. The original elementary campus closed due to budget cuts in 2011 and the Vacaville Unified School District voted this year to reopen it with an option for parents who have middle school kids looking at where they want their child's education trajectory headed next.
Sierra Vista is the only K-8 school in Vacaville Unified School District. It's a small, intimate learning environment with just two classes per grade level for kindergarten through sixth grades and then up to 250 students at full capacity during seventh and eighth grades.
Three Increments
The Sierra Vista K-8 project is an implementation of three increments. In just three short years, the Sierra Vista K-8 project has made huge strides. The first phase of construction began in June 2016 and ended at the year's end with completion on time.
Increment 1
The new school in Sierra Vista is a shining beacon for education. The fixtures and equipment are state-of-the art, as well as all of the innovations that make it stand out among other schools; from improved pedestrian safety to ultra-short throw projectors used by teachers who want their classroom walls weren't just bare plaster anymore!
Increment 2
Sierra Vista K-8 has been expanding with the addition of two science classrooms and a new multipurpose room. The classroom was completed in August 2018, containing fully equipped kitchens for other schools who will be utilizing its services as well!
Increment 3
The Sierra Vista K-8 school will invest in an exciting new library/media center to be completed by the end of this year. The space, which is currently a Library Media Room (LMR), has been transformed into something much more.
The Campus
The campus of Sierra Vista K-8 houses two schools on one grounds. The kindergarten through fifth grade follows the district’s elementary trimester calendar while sixth through eighth graders follow a quarterly schedule with seven classes per day for each student in math, English literature/language arts (option), history science and physical education; they also have an elective class available as well.
